From another board, I found that number : Fresh Cutz (514-685-2889) ( from a couple of years back).

Fresh Cutz is out of business to the best of my knowledge. And what they were selling was a cross-breed of black angus & Canadian kobe.

Club Chasse et Peche uses Canadian Kobe from Ontario(same stuff that's available at Le 357c private club restaurant).

Not on the Island but Boucherie L'entrecôte in Brossard sells products from this http://www.kobeclassic.com/ supplier , it's a Wagyu Angus hybrid I believe, call and ask what cuts they have available, not the best Wagyu you can get but not too bad either and prices for certain cuts are decent, ask if they have skirt , it makes a decent bavette substitute and wikll probably be cheaper.

I've never seen kobe beef in Atlantique's refrigerator case nor have I inquired about it, but Nick Robinson's sad quest implied that it has to be special ordered. Based on his experience, I wouldn't chance it.

I have seen it at Atlantique. It not always available. I think you have to special order it, if you want to get it fresh(not frozen). For its price, it's decent, but it doesn't compare to the real Kobe beef from Japan.

I should mention that I too saw Kobe Classic beef in Brossard last year (although I don't remember where -- probably the same shop that Cricklewood mentions) and it was selling for about 1/5th the price of the same stuff at Atlantique. I blogged about it at the time: http://www.blork.org/blorkblog/2006/10/27/kobe-beef-anyone/
