Best Beets: Anything new?

Beet/goat cheese appetizers seem to have gotten ubiquitous lately. With beet season coming on, anyone have recommendations about where to go for the best of the trend? Or know of any creative beet dishes out there?

  1. mm true, they are all over the place recently huh? The best one I've had as of late was the one at Orris on Sawtelle (
)Other than that, the one at Spago is not bad ... and I've had a few pretty good beet salads, like at Josie's.

I must say I haven't seen anything that's WOW creative. I'll let you know if I do :P

      1. The horseradish beets at Pizzeria Mozza are really tasty. Not exactly within the goat cheese/beet trend, but at least the same color scheme.

They make for an interesting side w/pizza.

        1. I had a great chopped salad at Hugo's recently - it was large chunks of beets, avocado, and feta cheese, mixed with quinoa and lettuce. Sounds like an odd combination, but it was really satisfying! A large portion too, I couldn't even finish the plate.
