Anyone been to this English Tavern ????

In my quest to find some upscale taverns/pubs, I Googled and came across Widow Fletcher's Tavern in Hampton, New Hamphire. The Menu looks promising and the web states "award winning chowder". Its www.widowfletcherstavern.com for any nosey interest out there. But if anyone's ever been or heard of it, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.

I'm always on the look out for good English food this side of the pond, but I'm not convinced by their menu (the shepherd's pie being particularly questionable!). Just by their site I would certainly not bother to stop. Anyone convince me otherwise?

IIRC this place was featured on food tv's Taste of America series. :)

Great Place. We stop here whenever we can. Chicken Pot Pie has been featured on one of the food channel shows. Bangers and Mashed and Shepherds Pie are the staples that we usually enjoy.

We've eaten there several times, the most recent was a couple of months ago. The chowder is very good and very filling. Be careful if your getting a meal that's heavy, you'll end up a bit stuffed. I recommend the chicken pot pie, but my wife enjoys the bangers and mash. Depending upon when you're going, you may want to make reservations. We had a New Year's Eve meal there a couple of years ago and had a great time. I think you'll like it.
