Houston near the galleria
My wife has a business meeting at the Westin at the galleria. We live in Austin, so please bear that in mind when making suggestions.
I dined at Cafe Annie about 10 years ago and enjoyed it. I am not looking for a dive or the upper limit of fine dining; hopefully something in between
Something uniquely Houston would be great
No Indian, Sushi (wife is pregnant), or Persian/Armenian please

Cafe Annie is still open. We've recently had a rec of Bar Annie, too. There are website menus for both.

This is about 2 blocks from the Galleria.
There have been numerous threads about eating near the Galleria in the last several months; try the search feature. The current thread on Weekend eats centers of the Houstonian which is only about a mile from the Galleria.
