Gargoyles' Fall Menu
I ate at Gargoyles last Saturday: baby red oak salad followed by wine-poached monkfish and finished with the butterscotch fondant with truffle ice cream. The monkfish was the highlight; nice and meaty and worked very well with the red-wine poach. The nearly raw brussels sprouts circling the fish were the only misstep. Overall the meal was pretty good. I live in Davis Square and having a place like this within walking distance makes me happy.
As for the menu, the apps and entrees were the same Saturday night as what I see today on their website. All the desserts except the butterscotch fondant are different. I think the bar menu is different but I can't be sure.
Agreed, I hate it when bad websites cast a poor light on a place. The Gargoyles website doesn't do that place justice.
I love Neptune's website (under construction since the place opened).
How difficult is it to have a nice-looking updated website? All I need is a current menu, directions, and hours. Any other info is just bonus.
