Some friends and I are going to be in the Buffalo, NY area next month and are looking for a nice restaurant. Any good recommendations?

If you are there for a few days, you need to go to Anchor Bar, home of the buffalo wing! The best you can get. Enjoy!

Most people think the Anchor is resting on its laurels (or just sucks). Good chicken wings are widely available in Buffalo - I usually look for a place with good beer first....

What are you looking for? If you give us some specifics, maybe we can point you to what you want. Buffalo has a lot of great food, if you know where to look.

If you seek BBQ, don't go to Buffalo Smokehouse, which closed. Try Suzy Q's (2829 Niagara St., 873-5981).

The best BBQ if Buffalo (IMHO) is Kentucky Greg's but it's to far away from the stadium. And Suzy Q's is equally far away. (And regrettably, Buffalo Smokehouse is now Darcy McGee's - an Irish Pub). I'd try Mangia in Orchard Park. It's Italian and good.

Take a look at http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/restaurant... reviews are generally accurate.
If you're looking for something in particular cuisine wise or location wise, let me know.

Thanks for responding. That link is no longer working. We are going up for the football game in Orchard Park but want to have a good meal the night before. Is Fat Bob's Smokehouse good?

            Sorry, try http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/restaurant...

Fat Bob's is OK. I take it you want BBQ? Go to Buffalo Smokehouse instead.

This article is pretty definitive on Buffalo BBQ:

(not sure that the link to the origial Buffalo News article works now, but it may be archived somewhere)
