looking for casual lunch near the Mint

Any suggestions for "ladies who lunch"? Looking for nice atmosphere, preferably with outdoor seating or a nice view. I was thinking Tomatillos, but the menu just does't look that good. Not Port of Call or Buffa's- something a little nicer and lighter.

  1. Cafe Amelie? I haven't been there, but the courtyard sounds lovely. Bayona has reasonable lunches.

I agree. Cafe Amelie's courtyard is perfect for a "ladies outdoor lunch" (W-S 1100-1600). Bayona is also a fine choice (W-S 1130-1430) but further away from the Mint. Can't go wrong with either of these two establishments.

agree on cafe amelie. it's exactly what you're looking for.

      2. Tujague's serves lunch! (or at least they used to, before the "thing". You might want to double-check).

        1. Tomatillo's is fairly decent for 'Mexican' and they have a great outdoor patio. Also, you may want to consider Praline Connection on Frenchman. No outdoors but you can get a streetside seat.

          1. If you are in the mood for Mexican, El Gato Negro on French Market Place is good. I think they have a table or two on the sidewalk. It faces the French Market flea market section and is next to that artist co-op. They also have good margaritas, I had a carrot one recently that was interesting and tasty.

            1. Marigny Brasserie around there has great lunch.
