Sunday / Monday Restaurants

I am a chef and restaurant owner and this in our 3rd trip to Chicago. Would welcome some suggestions of must check out places.
Have been to Trotters, Tru, Tompolabombo/Frontera, Avec, Spring. I know many places good places are closed on Sunday & Mondays, but is the only time we can get away.
I have started to look into
MK's, Moto, Otom, 61blue, and Alinea( I know rated best in America-Gourmet, and is battling tongue cancer-so hard to get in)

Any word on the actual opening date to Takashi's new place, I know him form Tribute, Detroit, MI

  1. I recently had a fantastic meal at Chalkboard(which I will give a whole post to soon) in Lincoln Square. The chef is as talented as any in town, but has a restrained, subtle style of cooking. I had a starter of seared diver scallops with candied kalamata olives and a vanilla bean aioli that was one of the best dishes I've had all year. Specials change weekly and are written on a chalkboard on the wall, and the wine list was very well picked. a lang and reed cabernet franc from napa valley paired beautifully with my cassoulet main course, and was a great value($45) Nice room, perfect service. about $65 pp including tax, 3 course and grat
