The Host, on prince arthur

food for life Oct 31, 2007 11:40 AM

Has anybody been recently.
I read a blurb from James Chatto he recently did a review on the city's tandori, and The Host came out on top.

Excellent. The mulligatawny (sp??) soup is great, as is the murg mirch tikka, a tandoori dish.

I've always found it expensive for the quality delivered - but I don't normally do the Tandoori.

We went about a year ago and everything was deelish. For what we got the price seemed fine. Indian is not my first choice to dine out on, but I think this would be considered a high end restaurant, compared to others, say on Gerrard.

The food is only as good as you will find on any buffet on Queen Street. And, it's 10x the price.

I've always had similar feelings about upscale Indian restaurants. Maybe after growing up on the stuff, the pomp and circumstance seem a bit strange. Fwagra is right, go to Little India on Queen St. more often instead. :)

agree with posters but you must see the size of the "family size naan"! it was so big we couldn't stop laughing, but despite the size it was a pretty good naan... the last time i was there was 2 years ago so hopefully it has remained unchanged.
