ISO Best Linzer Tarts in LA

promised a friend i'd come through with the Linzer Tarts, now i have to deliver.

where do i find the best los angeles has to offer?

    I haven't been in a while but Emil's Swiss Pastry, 1567 Barry Ave. in West LA. used to make a good linzer, hopefully they still do.

    Also, there's a pastry stand at the far east end of the SM farmers market bakery who usually has linzers, not bad at all when we've tried them. Since there's a Rockenwagner stand at the far west end, you can get two and make an on-site comparison!

      I really like the one at Rockenwagner Bakery, but I haven't tried any others so have nothing to compare it to.

        It isn't the same but I admit a certain fondness for the linzer muffin at Joan's. All of the flavors but more substance.

          I think the Cafe Los Feliz Bakery on Hillhurst (the old La Conversation) might do one.
