Home seltzer makers

Jack Barber Oct 31, 2007 07:10 AM

Does anyone have one of these home seltzer makers?
Was wondering if anyone had a corroborating experience to the below Test Kitchen article
from the NYTimes a couple weeks back.

I drink seltzer at home too, and would like to stop recycling so many bottles, wasting
energy etc. And still drink bubbly water.

Does anyone recommend the Soda Club? or another model?

I prefer moderate (but persistent) carbonation, if that matters.

Thanks for any help.

We've had Soda Club for a couple of years. Love it love it love it. There is no downside, except that my three-year-old will no longer drink still water.

Here's a recent thread about it:

Thanks for the link and info. I just got a Soda Club set for Christmas and I am so excited to start using it. I was going to post a question too but found this and the other thread. Thanks.

I have a couple of older machines "Drink Master" that I think is still in business out of Seattle. The advantage if you can find one on ebay is that the tanks can be filled locally for far less than Soda Club charges.
