Any suggestions on brand and location where I can purchase a decent, but not too expensive Pasta Machine? I would prefer a hand-turned one, instead of electric. I'm in Toronto.

Thanks!

The heavy chrome steel and brass Italian hand-cranked jobs are the best value--and probably the easiest to source. I bought a "Marcato" eons ago at Eaton's that's still doing the job. They work best doing various flat cuts, so don't go for fancy-schmancy cutters that promise ravioli, etc.Upscale cookware fetish shops often skip these old warhorses in favor of the pricey electric toys--best avoided. Try along St Clair(hardware stores once carried these), possibly Woodbridge. Cookware places along Spadina and College might be worth a look, too. Have seen some Chinese-made look-a-likes that are utter junk. Get the Italian-made models.

This is the one I have as well. Works like a charm. I got mine at a store on St. Clair with a big yellow sign - forget the name of the place.. sorry. But it's right in Corsa Italia on the south side.
