Help! My favorite neighborhood soft-serve Mary's Dairy just closed! Where in the East Village can I get my (preferably low-cal) fix?? Tasti D-Lite is so horrendous...

Darn, Mary's Dairy was good! Ben & Jerry's on 3 Ave. is pretty good. Bam! has softserve, but I don't know how good it is.

It's not low calorie...but Ray's is the best! I love his malted milk shakes and the pistachio soft serve. Also, lime rickies and cherry-lime rickies too...

Ray's is the best-his egg creams are the best too-my favorite is coffee

There are many places in the neighborhood that make their own ice cream:

          Sundaes-10th off Third
Cones-the best one Bleecker across from Matt Umnanov
Forgot the Name Ave B between 13th and 14th
Australia-St marks off A (not made on premisies)
Il Laboratorio de Gelato-very good Orchard Street

B&J's soft serve lo-cal is a bit sweeter than Mary's Dairy's, which was airier. I am a bit of a devotee of this type of ice cream and Ben & Jerry's is pretty much the best. I'll miss Mary's. What do I do with my ten frequent buyer hole punch cards now?
