No mas.......not sure what happened. I'd heard that it was closed, and then I verified today myself.

Clues?

It isn't the health dept, as their last score was 73.

  1. Hmmm. That place has a curse??

    1. That's curious. It seemed like their business was surprisingly good for such a cursed location.

Last time I was there it looked like the construction crews nearby were gearing up to build a highway right through it so maybe that has something to do with it?

      1. I wonder if the Round Rock location is still open?

I got the impression that they were closing both locations. There was an ad in this month Community Impact newspaper (for NW Austin) from the Luis family. They thanked the community for their patronage, and announced the closure of both locations. Catering would still be available.

            A Personal Thanks...

Don Luis SuperTacos & Cafe was opened in 2004 out of a taco trailer. Don Luis and wife cooked family recipes that included large handmade flour tortillas stuffed with breakfast or lunch, now known as the Don Luis SuperTaco. Our fist customers were from the I45 tollroad bridge project. These construction workers came every day for breakfast and lunch. Within little time, everyone around the area knew about us, thus packing the little place on the corner lot at fm1325. In December of 2006, Don Luis decided to move to Parmer and Mopac, despite the odds of the location, he went on. Within 3 months the parking lot at Parmer and Mopac had to be expanded. It was a big change for Don Luis and family, but they worked hard to keep up the fresh authentic mexican food theme. " I was amazed to see the restaurant full at times, which made me feel good" but it was not enough to keep up with the amount of employees and overhead needed to survive. In October of 2007, Don Luis had to close this location due to unforseen issues, not related to the food or customers.

Don Luis and Family would like to thank every one who supported us since the trailer opened in 2004. We always strived to bring you good authentic mexican food at a very reasonalble price with a friendly smile. We know Don Luis will be a name that represents quality and service, Therefore we believe that God has good things in store for us in the food business. For now, Just remember the name: Don Luis SuperTacos & Cafe.
