Sushi for those who hate Fish

abscissa Oct 30, 2007 11:26 AM

Can anyone recommend a good sushi/Japanese place in midtown/uptown (or can drive out if necessary) that offers good sushi -- but also an extensive list of dishes for someone who hates fish and prefers to eat steak, etc.? Something midrange please -- between sushi Kaji and your local korean run joint.

Thank you

I really enjoy the cod and beef at Mye Restaurant in Oakville. I think that they have some of the best sashimi around but their yakiniku is excellent as well.

A little closer than Oakville-I'd suggest Edo on Eglinton, W of Avenue. Lots of non-fish selections with very good service.

Fukui on Bayview around Eglinton. We were there a few weeks ago. The cooked food (chicken, beef, etc) are fantastic. The sushi is very good too.

I'd second Fukui on Bayview. Otherwise try Sushi Supreme at Yonge and Davisville.

          Thanks, I will try Fukui.

I do not like Edo at all... The owner is always there, always eating, and I think that's really tacky for some reason. Plus it's overpriced.

          Thanks again for the recommendation!
