Girls Birthday Weekend in NYC

My friends and I are going to NYC for my 29th bday in a couple weeks. Any recommendations for fun restaurants. We like a trendy scene but do not want to sacrifice good food for the trend of it all. We have been recommended to try Kittichai, Tabla & Stanton Social (for brunch). Staying in midtown but open for any area south of that for good eats. A few options would be great!! Thanks!

Will third! Stick with appetizers, dim sums, and avoid fried rice / noodles. Desserts are quite good (kinda surprised me)!

        You will enjoy it!

Strange you say to avoid the fried rice...that was one of our favorite dishes of the meal.

Well, it tasted like the fried rice you get in Chinatown. So why bother? Get it at Chinatown for 3x less.

        1. I thought Stanton Social was excellent for dinner, especially with a group so you can try as many of their yummy small plates as possible. In particular the french onion soup dumplings and the chicken and waffles stand out in my mind as spectacular. The scene is very lively, fun, and trendy. Drinks are good and pretty good service. Also there are a bunch of other restaurants and bars near the restaurant so it's a good spot to go out.

Great, thanks for the input. We tried to make reservations for Stanton Social for dinner but already booked that Saturday. So we made brunch reservations there for Sunday-- how is their brunch?

SS has an excellent brunch. Good call!
