Chocolate souffles

hi,

I want to take my friend who LOVES chocolate souffles out for her birthday. Is there anywhere between Venice and Downtown that does chocolate souffles well?

thanks

      No doubt that Pacific Dining Car in Santa Monica is where you want to go for the absolute best chocolate soufflés in L.A.! They've some pretty good coffee if you like, while waiting for your soufflés. Another plus - they're open 24 hours.

        I noticed a chocolate-cinammon souffle on the Craft menu in Century City, but didn't order it. If it's anywhere as good as the donuts they served it'll be worth checking out.

          In my mind, the best is Cut which is decadent and chock full of Valrhona chocolate...... Enjoy!!

            3 Square Cafe on Venice does it well (see picture at the bottom of: http://gourmetpigs.blogspot.com/2007/...

            )

            and then Spago does souffle really well, but they don't always have chocolate, so you should check :)

            and I actually LOVE the one at Arroyo Chop House, but that's in Pasadena

              I know Studio City is not within the boundary you gave but Bistro Garden makes a wonderful chocolate souffle.

                Also out of the way but a good souffle is the one at La Frite in Sherman Oaks or Woodland Hills

                  While I like that dessert, I consider it to be more of a lava cake as opposed to a true souffle. I like the souffles at Morton's.

                      Just had this dicussion with a co-worker today. I completely agree that it's a lava cake - doesn't even come close to being a real souffle. I also think it's too sweet and can't shake the feeling that it's mass produced. I guess when they are cranking out so many of them it's to be expected...

                      I recall having a good one at Off Vine a while back.

                      In Venice, James Beach does a good chocolate souffle.

                          tam-o-shanter in los feliz. but call first because they vary the type of souffle nightly.
