Has anyone been to this restaurant in San Gabriel?
I've heard it's quite delicious and am considering a trip, even though it's quite a journey (I'm on the Westside).
Any information about what to order? Is it casual or dressy? What is the parking situation? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

  1. Chiles en nogada is a highly praised dish. Parking on the street is easy.

I'm planning on making a trip real soon for Chiles en nogada. But they always have yummy specials of the day, so unfortunately I don't remember the name of the dishes. Oh Pescado Picado is a really good dish if you don't mind spicy ;)

Definately worth the drive...for appetizers, try the sope sammy or the stuffed chiles with strawberries are really good too! The chocolate flan is good, last time I went I had a very lovely chocolate cake.
I would say it's casual, I went once and their was only two other people there..I've never had a problem with parking.

Yes, use the search. It's not a dressy place--from the outside it looks a little "hole in the wall-ish" and you can park on the street.

      2. It's worth the journey...just be sure to call and reserve a spot-it's not too large, and you don't want to risk it.
Don't miss the chiles en nogada, for sure. And also save room for dessert.

        1. Babita's is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I blogged about it last year:

The food is so just so good and if they happen to have that duo of soups I mentioned, you should definitely order it. :)
