ISO fantastic frosting recipe that's NOT buttercream

I need to bake some chocolate cupcakes for an event this week and really don't care for buttercream frosting, or at least not the kind that tastes like a stick of softened butter swirled on top of a cake.

Any suggestions?

I usually glaze my cupcakes.. powdered sugar, cocoa powder, tsp vanilla and just enough milk to get it to the consistancy you want. Dip the cupcake in the glaze and let it harden.

What about the pecan/coconut frosting you put on a German Chocolate cake?

Cream cheese frosting, stabilized whipped cream frosting, seven minute frosting (or Wilton's fluffy boiled frosting)
