looking for a good sticky toffee pudding recipe

the one i used to use had a brown sugar and butter mixture that was poured over the top after the cake was baked, then the whole cake was broiled to caramelize the topping. does anyone have a similar recipe??

  1. Lyle's (as in Golden Syrup) has a bunch of recipes for their syrups, including treacle (molasses).

    In this one, part of the sauce is cooked in the bottom of mold, and part added after unmolding.

    1. The BBC Food web site ( ) has several recipes for sticky toffee pudding, but they seem all have a cooked caramel sauce that's poured on the cake before serving.

      But here's a tea room web site with a broiled topping.

      Note: I haven't made this recipe, so I can't vouch for the quality. But with ingredients like dates, butter, brown sugar, and cream, how bad can it be?
