ISO 'quaint' brunch place for the girls

I have a girlfriend coming for a visit and we are looking for a nice place for brunch. I am thinking of someplace that is not too noisy...someplace where you might find relaxing. It's our weekend without the kids and we just want to be able to sit and enjoy nice food in beautiful surroundings! Any suggestions?

Another simply beautiful room where you can relax and have an exceptional brunch is the Studio Cafe in the Four Seasons Yorkville. A ladies' brunch should always be near good shopping. Good luck in finding your spot. I hope it's the beginning of a tradition between you and your friend.

I second that recommendation. Leisurely brunch at Studio Cafe, a stroll through yorkville, then back to the Four Seasons for afternoon tea!

If you do end up at the Gallery Grill, be sure to try the ginger-spiked pear juice. It's simply amazing.

I've been hearing good things about Stonegrill on Winchester in Cabbagetown..had a look at their menu, it looks delicious! The room is gorgeous and they have a jazz group in on Sundays...

How about afternoon tea at the Windosr Arms? My close friend and I always do a special lunch around Xmas and we love the relaxed nature of going for tea. There's little table turn over, so the place is calm and everything is well-paced. All you have to do is make a couple of decisions at the beginning and then just relax and nibble on a variety of sandwiches and sweets and sip from fine china tea cups.

Another suggestion, if you are feeling upscale, is the restaurant at Holt's (I think it is on the 3rd floor?? I have been there with a few girlfriends on different occasions. Good people watching, beautiful and very relaxed.

Yes it is on the 3rd floor, just in from the ladies shoe department. Great spot, fab food and like Otonabee says, good people watching. Last time I was there, Rick Mercer was seated across from me. And it is a beautiful room, very hip!!!

They have an excellent quiet brunch in a gorgeous dinning room

I would second the Hart House suggestion. The place is stunning, and the food is amazing!
