Best hot & sour soup in Calgary?

writer_girl13 Oct 27, 2007 09:12 PM

I've tried the Silver Inn, Spicy Hut and a handful of other places, but I'm still looking for the best hot and sour soup in the city. Something hot, yet with the right amount of tang and all the usual suspects: tofu, bamboo, carrots etc. in a good broth.

Anyone with suggestions?

I wouldnt exactly consider myself a connaisseur (sp?), but I've had my fair share of H&S soup and I think my favorite comes from the Jade China Inn in McKenzie Towne. Its got more tang than most of the other soups I've had, plus doesn't have the same swampy aroma that you get in most H&S soups.

I'm a big hot and sour soup fan, and I agree with you, its usually to hot, with not enough sour and often isn't very good. Sometimes its like dishwater. That being said we've found the hot and sour soup at Central Grand on 16th to be very good. But even then, its slightly different day to day.
