My vote for a great burger in Fairfield County goes to the Black Duck in Westport.
It is a real good, flame broiled burger, real juicy!!!!
My favs are the large swiss/mushroom burger. Make sure they toast the bun, you have to ask.
Their bacon/cheddar burger is also very good.
As far as atmosphere, well, it is a old converted barge on the river. A real bar scene.
A great long bar to sit at and have a great burger.
You have to love a bar that Martha Stewart goes to for their for the Wings!!!›2 Replies -

In Fairfield Cty, I like Rory's in Darien. In Westchester I like the Blazer Pub in Somers (Purdys).

re: KarenNYC
K,
Here is a review from August 14th from Jfood on Burger Bar.
Well with all the talk of burgers, Cherry Street East still not open, the weather inperfect shape, jfood decided to try Burger Bar in SONO, CT. Ordered Bacon Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato (no onion), a hot dog and some sweet potato fries.
- Fries were really good, thin strips, nicely fried with large grounds of salt on them Jfood gives them an 8
- Hot Dog was disappointing but we have some great dogs in the area nd the BB dog just does not hold up to Swankys’, Chez, and nowhere close to Super Duper. Jfood can only give the dog a 4
- Cheeseburger – Let’s just get the bad news out of the way. NEVER serve lettuce that is turning brown, it does not get the custom in a good mood. The bun was a little weak, not enough flavor for jfood. The tomato was disappointing especially given the time of year and the tomatoes that are available. Now onto the important stuff, the burger. The size is absolutely perfect for a burger, stated at 7 oz on the menu. The texture and quality of the meat was outstanding and they served it cook PERFECTLY, still heavy pink inside. Major kudos. Bacon and cheese were perfectly cooked and melted on top of the burger. The only negatives jfood can give the burger was the seasoning. Some may like absolutely nothing added to the meat but jfood likes a little something to show a little love. The meat was just that, meat. Jfood will rate this part of the meal on the burger, cheese and bacon a 9. The bun tomato receive a 6.But this is the best burger jfood has eaten outside casa jfood since cherry street east burned down.
