I made it to lahore karahi for lunch today, just about the last in a long run of trying all the different indian restaurants in the city, and i must say the wait was worth it.

I had the lamb vindaloo on a recommendation, and the saag chicken. both ordered spicy. also the veg. samosas, rice, and garlic naan. everything was excellent. best vindaloo ive had, someone tell me if youve had one better. the saag was so good i was swooning, the best saag ive had also. the samosas were very very good, but barely get beat out by the preparation of little delhi. the rice and naan were great as well.

coupled with the truly excellent food and the most friendly (by far) chef/owner ive ever encountered in an indian restaurant lahore karahi is hands down my fav in the city.

if you havent tried it go do it soon before i eat all their food.

The deep fried potato balls at Lahore Karahi are AMAZING. The chicken tikka masala, not so much. I also don't love their naan. But you're right that the owner is as nice as can be, and given how divine the potato balls are I do plan to go back and figure out what else is good (lamb vindaloo, apparently). Lahore Karahi is on O'Farrell, but I forget the exact cross (Leavenworth?).

Little Delhi is the only one in the 'hood that I like even better (Market/Mason)

The owner told me that the fish tandoori is "101% good" he was right.
Spicy seabass with onion, tomatoes, peppers and lettuce is greater than the sum of it's parts.

greetings, m'lord.
Since you are on good terms with the owner, p'raps you can find out if the "sea bass" is really the endangered patagonian tooth fish. If it is NOT, I will surely get over there to try many of his specialties, probably will in any case. thank you
