What's good near Birdland, 44th and 8th, for a late dinner before the 11:00 Phoebe Snow show?

I agree with the Marseille suggestion. Another good option is West Bank Cafe, on 42nd, b/t 9th & 10th.

West Bank over Marseille, both good choices, I just like the West Bank vibe better.

I 'third' the West Bank. Just be aware that it's not inexpensive.

right down the street is Marseille on the corner of 44th and 9th. Same side of the street as Birdland. Also on 9th AVe in the 40s, Hell's Kitchen, stylish Mexican.
