Bentley's in Cary?? Great or not?
I will be visiting friends in the Raleigh area for a chowfest of sorts. We want to get a real taste of what restaurants are moving the area forwards...
Someone recommended Bentley's in Cary ... but the website looks relatively mundane. Is this spot as good as they say?

Well... I have been....
We stopped on our way to a movie one night on a whim. I later found out that they are owned by the same group that owns Carolina Ale House & Taverna Agora.
The food was actually decent and much nicer than I would have expected. I felt that it was definitely overpriced though. I certainly wouldn't say that this was "a real taste of what restaurants are moving the area forwards...."

re: cackalackie
You know, I don't think I know anyone who's been there, either. I'd be interested in hearing about it. I do, though, agree with cackalackie - it's probably not a good cutting edge or progressive restaurant for the area.
Do you want to stay in Cary? If so, I'd recommend Lotus Leaf, Bistro 64, or Maximillian's. There are also a ton of great restaurants in Raleigh - just search the board and you'll find lots of recs. Good luck!
