Festive Friday dinner near Yonge and Adelaide

Where should a gastronomically adventurous (loves Thai, Indian, Italian, will try almost anything) student go for a special evening meal that won't interfere too much with paying his tuition?

Not too far from there is Mengrai Thai. Excellent food, reasonably priced, incredibly friendly and helpful staff, nice set of rooms.

Thank you; that does look nice. He is quite intent on finding an ethnic restuarant, though. Is looking at Dhaba and Everest, what do you think? I'm just Mom, being asked for advice from afar.

I do not recommend Dhaba. I was there a couple weeks ago and found the food ho-hum (ok sauce for example, but dry chicken) with strange service and value for money was not high in my opinion.
For Indian right now, my favourite is Tabla, but it's at Yonge and Eglinton.
For Italian, he should try Terroni on Victoria near Adelaide.
I can't think of a decent Thai place in that area.
If he wants to branch out further (in cuisine and location, how about Korean at Bloor and Christie? There are a number of good options there)
