After-theatre coffee or drink in Front and Church area?

My hubby and I are going to see The Elephant Man next Saturday night at Bluma Appel Theatre on Front Street. Any recommendations for after-theatre coffee or drink in the Front and Church area? Looking for quiet place to chat.

Not sure if I went on an atypical night...however the last time I went to C'est What on Front it was very quiet (Sat evening in the summer -- don't know if it was a theatre night).

In the cooler months it can be very, very crowded and loud on weekend evenings, at least as of about a year ago. I think they are slower in summer because they are in a basement, and everyone is looking for patios at that time.

In terms of pure coffee shops, I agree with robgm, the options are a bit limited. There is a Lettieri location that is open late on the south side of Front street, near Jarvis, and another new location a few blocks north at Adelaide and Victoria which is *very* quiet on weekends and evenings.

For drinks, most of the places in the immediate area are noisy pubs, probably not what you're looking for. The King Eddie recommendation is a good one if you're looking for a more upscale place. You could also try stopping for a drink after the dinner rush at some of the decent restaurants along the Colborne/Wellington strip, such as Trevor, Lucien, Colborne Lane and Six Steps. But these will have a trendy vibe and possibly will be too loud for quiet conversation.

The Consort Bar at the King Edward Hotel is usually fairly quiet and a pleasant place to have a drink. Head up Scott Street to your left after you leave the theatre. two short blocks to King.

there is a starbucks down there and a second cup, but it is saturday night, after theatre(s) and most places will be quite busy.
