Please help me name my drink!

hailstorm Oct 25, 2007 07:46 AM

Hey everyone

I found an old post where someone else had the same problem - a new drink without a name. You guys came up with some wicked suggestions, and i was hoping you might not mind getting your name thinking caps back on again for me!?

Anyway here's the recipe - any suggestions would be wonderful!

Black cherry jam
Vanilla vodka
cinnamon syrup
lime juice
orange bitters
egg white

Thank you!

i think hailstorm is a fine name for this, uh, concoction. Either that or "explosion in the candy factory."

A Cavity? Because you'll get one if you drink too many. I don't get it. Egg white? How do you put it together.

        Egg white - It's a frothy drink like a Tom & Jerry

There are many alcoholic drinks calling for egg whites shaken with the other ingredients...Pisco Sour, Pink Lady...to name two. They are usally added to make the drink frothy.

What color does it wind up being? Is it in a tall glass or short? Is it as sweet tasting as the ingredients would lead me to believe?

              French Toast.

              Or maybe...

A Waffle House. As in, "I'll have a double Waffle House. And make it sticky."

With the jam, cinnamon syrup, and egg, that's a perfect name for it.

I like the "For Women Only", but personally I would not drink something so sweet.

                Maybe: Adult PB&J??

Yeah it's actually not sweet at all. (hard to believe I know!) The jam is only sweetened with fruit concentrate, so there is no added sugar, and the lime juice and bitters reduce the sweetness considerably so it ends up nicely balanced. It's a dark dusky pink colour, with a frothy top. Served in a rocks glass.

Totally agree it's the perfect name. Now I want to see what it tastes like, if it's truly not sweet, it sounds like it would be really good!

guys, sorry-- purple rain is already a drink, has been around since, oh, "purple rain" came out. it's a variation of the other older drink "purple haze."
