Would you share the last restaurant that you went to in Philly and said, "That's great, we will be back!" Ours would include Amada, Palace at the Ben, and Osteria. Thank you!

The last three places for us would be:

    Karma, for the lunch buffet
    Ansill
Caribou Cafe, for Croque Monsieurs and inexpensive champagne

I won't go on a rant, except to say I found Vintage to be snobby and overrated.

Places we go a lot and would recommend:
          Tria
          Branzino
          Lolita
          Sweet Lucy's
Honey's Sit and Eat (but don't go for dinner!)

Ansill. We have been back there many, many times. Southwark too.

In Philly it would have to be Caffe Casta Diva.
But the one place that we (and now our friends) all think is an incredible winner and only 1/2 hour away, is Moro in Wilmington.
Doesn't it sound far? But it actually isn't any farther than driving to center city from most suburbs. (shhhh! Please don't tell anyone!) :-)

I go to Osteria way too much. The lobster pasta last Sunday night was crazy off the hook!

It wasn't in Phiily, but it wasn't all that far. Remarkable dining experience. For a special occasion, well worth the drive.

If you opt for Tallula's Table, expect to dine there no sooner than Spring 2008. I heard that they are booked until then.

That's ALMOST true. There might be a few weeknight openings between now and June, but weekends are fully booked, and no new reservations will be taken until January. That said, you can always do WONDERFUL take-out.
