Real, Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor in NJ

Hi, Looking for a real, sit down ice cream parlor in middlesex or monmouth county NJ.
A place that uses real glassware and silverware to get sundaes at. Sort of like Friendlys but nicer.
And if not a ice cream parlor then a diner or other restaurant that makes a great hot fudge sundae.

Thanks

Would you consider Krazies in Rumson?
About as close to hand packed, old fashioned as we've found without going to farther south or to PA.

Probally the best is in Ocean Grove at the Day's Inn (Starving Artist) but sorry it is seasonal May - September. They sell Double Rainbow which is shipped in from San Francisco, CA. This is the one of the best in the country but hard to find hear on the east coast. Hint, if you ever go to Trader Vics look for it in the freezer. Take home the
ultra chocolate and it will blow you away if you like chocolate. Simply nothing like it anywhere.

the corner confectionary in highland park. its website doesn't have good pics, though, or much info about ice cream:

Great to hear that this place still exists. I moved from the area several years ago so I think I need to plan a return visit!

Here's a picture of the inside of the confectionary:

If the corner confectionary still sells Sedutto's ice cream as they use to (10) years ago when I lived in the area and went often - you can't go wrong. This is one of the best ice creams available bar none.

Nagles, in Ocean Grove, is an old-fashioned ice cream parlor located in what was formerly an apothecary shop, so, in addition to ice cream treats, there's very charming decor.

Sounds great. It's not too far from Sandy Hook, good for lunch after a morning of birding. Any thoughts on what lunch dishes are good?

Do you know if Nagles is open year round? It sounds like a great place to visit.

Nagles is open all year, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, in addition to ice cream. I think the breakfast items are available all day....

Sorry but Nagles use to have great home made ice cream - not any longer, I thing it is Bryers or some other mass production ice cream.
