Happy hour with food for celebration

Hey 'hounders,

I just (1 hour ago!) successfully defended my dissertation and I am going out to celebrate tonight with family and friends. I am looking for someplace on the casual side, with a good happy hour and decent food. I live in West Hollywood and I prefer to go out around here.

You guys have been great with suggestions before for me, so any suggestions? Thank you!!

The Abbey! Technically a gay bar, but really more of an "everyone under the sun goes for a good time" bar. Pretty good food.

Also, 3rd Stop.

It can get really crowded, but Third Stop on 3rd Street across from Cedar Sinai has good food and good drink selection. Also, very fun, festive atmosphere.

Congratulations on your defense!! What an accomplishment!

This might be too late, but I'd recommend Cha Cha Cha. It has a festive, fun atmosphere, a good happy hour menu, good food, etc. They can get loud at times, but that might not matter given the ongoing festivities. Enjoy!

Thanks Lisa! I ended up passing out last night and didn't make it out...but, I am going out tomorrow night and I will definitely look into Cha Cha Cha. It is also 2 blocks from my house! :) Thanks!

The Belmont. Very fun & the food's good. Drinks & apps 1/2 off 4-7pm.

Marix is also very fun with great food and has a 4-7pm happy hour. Great great margaritas of all kinds.

Spanish Kitchen might also fit the bill, I'm not sure if they have a happy hour.
