Best Chopped Chicken Liver in NYC?

Looking for the real deal. A place with great Matzoh Ball Soup would be nice too but the liver is really what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for your help.

sammy's is fun and extremely rough; I always get a chopped liver all the way in Rego Park from Knish Nosh; they've got tons of other deli yummies but their chopped liver (eat it that day!) is delicious, and almost always sold out if you go too late . . .

Barney Greengrass, but I don't know about their matzoh ball soup. I know they've got it, but that's just not their realm of supreme and utter dominance (I miss them... London sucks...)

I don't partake myself so I can't vouch, but my mother loved the chopped liver from Barney Greengrass on the UWS, and she usually makes her own.

I second that. When I come to the city from PA, I take an ice chest so I can bring Russ and Daughters chopped liver home!

If it's to eat in Sammy's Rumanian for the chopped chicken liver. I don't think they have matzoh ball but they do have a splendid kreplach and chicken noodle. If it's from a deli, well to be honest it all tastes the same to me. But what do I know...
