Solo dining spot in Denver?
I may be eating alone in Denver so I am looking for a good place I can go and sit at a bar and order dinner (bistro with a wine bar or something like that). Something nice, relaxed with good food. Being able to dine at the bar is key, as I'd rather sit at a bar than at a table in a dining room.
Staying at Tech Center area, so something closeby or within short driving distance.
Thanks.

Oops! I accidentally posted this response on your request for sushi spots so here it is again!!
Hi Clare - I wrote some recommendations for sushi and DTC area restaurants but have added the following for good spots to dine alone at the bar!
Again consider Yia Yias - nice Euro restaurant.

More than 30 varieties of fresh seafood flown in daily. Menu highlights include tempting pasta, poultry and beef specialties. Nice atmosphere and open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.Beware -- avoid Cool River in my opinion. This particular spot has the well deserved reputation as a pick up spot and you might find you'll get more than you bargained for dining alone at the bar in this establishment. I also would say that the food is somewhat less than average at an above average price. good people watching but....
Cool River Café
8000 East Belleview Avenue Suite C-10
Greenwood Village, CO 80111
Steak House with Cigar bar, pool tablesIf you are craving a good steak spot consider, Brooks, Del Friscos or even Flemings --all in the immediate area.(Yes, most are chains but still your best bet for steak in the area).

The two places that come to mind are Mel's which just relocated to that area and their sister restaurant Annabels. Not totally sure on bar dining so you might want to call and ask. Just on the East side of I-25 from DTC.
