Oyster & Dinner

My husband and I are coming to New Orleans this week-end for parents week-end at Tulane. Who has the best oysters? Also, we are without our son for dinner on Saturday night. Any suggestions?

Everyone is correct. Casamentos has the best oysters. If you want good, local food for dinner on Saturday night and if you are staying near Tulane, go to Gautreau's, Upperline, Vizard's, or La Petite Grocery for dinner (dressy). If you want casual dining, try Dick and Jenny's, Mat and Naddie's, or Jacques-Imos.

Casamento's always has good oysters as well as a oyster-filled menu. A second uptown suggestion is Pascal's Manale. They have a great oyster bar in the front room which offers tasty oysters as well. You can also get a great meal there.
