Thanksgiving in San Diego

Konacucina Oct 22, 2007 08:44 AM

My husband and I and another couple are spending the holiday in San Diego and need advice on a terrific place for Thanksgiving dinner, willing to spend the bucks to ensure dining experience! Please let me know of some killer restaurants that will be serving on Thanksgiving.

I took my Mom to Hash House a couple of years ago and it was absolutely terrific. They have a set menu with 2-3 choices for the main course. The wine pairings were spot on. Of course, if you aren't in to the Hash House breakfast I wouldn't go there for dinner.

We have gone to HH for the last 3 years, and noticed that the quality has gone down somewhat each year. Last year, the deep fried turkey breast was very dry.

I would absolutley do the Torrey Pines Lodge.. AR Valentine I think it is.. Very festive and outstanding food... Thanksgiving or Christmas to me needs ambience..Hash House is great.. but just a regular ..and noisy restaurant..or The Addison....

We had Tgiving dinner a few years ago at Nine Ten in La Jolla, and had a great meal. I will say, though, that the greens were a bit salty for me, but everything else was fantastic, including the service. I'm not sure they're serving for the holiday, this year, though, as their site says nothing as of yet. They're in the Grande Colonial, so I'd think they're open. http://www.nine-ten.com/

I received a piece of email the other day from Tapenade, and it looked pretty good. Sort of a melange of traditional TG turkey with some imaginative French touches. Here's a link to the special menu:
