Private Room for 12

j

Looking for a nice private room for around a dozen people for dinner. Something like one of the rooms at The Rosewater Supper Club would be perfect. Definitely looking for really good food in a nice space. Unfortunately nothing too exotic, don't want to surprise the grandparents. Thanks in advance for the help 'hounds.

If they like steak, there are is a private room at Jacobs and Co. (the new steakhouse in town). It's moder decor, but high end, old schoolesque (except for the wagyu) cuisine. Your grandparents might like the piano bar there, too.

Chiado and Adega both have private table service in their wine cellars. It's a great atmosphere and the food is fantastic at both places, but it is downstairs, which may or may not be a problem for your grandparents.

There's a big table in the wine cellar at Biagio. You have to ask nicely.

We had corporate events in the private rooms of these restaurants: Azure, Canoe, Senses, Biff's, Bymark, Susar, Far Niente, La Maquette, Canyon Chop House, reds Bistro, Pangaea Restaurant, North 44, Bardi's Steak House, Morton's Steak House, Wayne Gretzky's Restaurant. Not sure which one would fit your family event.

Joy bistro has a room upstairs that they rent out, provided they cater. I don't know how the food is these days, but it used to be good.
Oro also has a few lovely rooms, and the food was quite good when we were there 2 years ago.

You should contact Chef Gallery ( info@chefgallery.ca ) their dining room only seats 12 and is a victorian parlour. Since you are the only dinners the service is very attentive as is the kitchen. They only open by reservation and tailor the menu to the people and is surprisingly affordable.

Do you remember roughly how much this cost?
This sounds perfect for a Christmas dinner I am planning for 10-12 friends.

For our party it worked out to $150 per person (10 people) but that included a 5 course menu each course paired with a different wine (full glasses not tasting size), pre-dinner cocktails, Taxes AND Tip. Also because you are the only guests you do no feel rushed we started around 7 and left at midnight.

We gave them our (fixed) budget and they developed the menu and the wine pairings for us to approve. They were very good with suggestions and changes as there were some specific wines we wanted included.

The owner mentioned that the next week they were doing a birthday party that was more traditional 3 courses with beer or wine so they are very flexible.

We only booked about two weeks in advance but they still had many dates open for us to choose.

Which part of the town is their dining room located? I just checked http://www.chefgallery.ca/index.asp and wasn't able to find their address.

It is not a restaurant but a private event space and is located in Leslieville.

I was in the BeerBistro back room recently for a small party, and it was fantastic. Completely separate from the main space, including a private washroom. The food was all apps and served family style, which was quite nice.

I don't know how many it sits and the atmosphere might not be right, but, Gio's has a back room in a vault that looks like a fun palce to dine...
