"Pastry Shoppe", Queen/Broadview - Anyone been there?

This place occupies the old Stop Donut location on Queen, near Dangerous Dan's. We just realized that they have been open for a few months, yet seem to have generated no buzz whatsoever, either in the neighbourhood or on this board. Has anyone been there?

Had breakfast there I guess a couple months ago. Seems to be pretty much still the Donut shop just "upscale" - they did make a decent latté and I got a really great omelet on a bagel, omelet was made fresh, bagel was import. Staff seemed a bit...uncertain as to what they were doing (operating espresso machine). Not overly impressed but I'd go back again...

I agree that the staff is still "green"

I had a couple of their sprinkled cookies, which were good enough. My parents had the coffee (I am not a coffee drinker) and said it was not as good as the bakery two doors down.

Although I haven't had the coffee there, based on the description I find it hard to believe that they're making better coffee than Dark Horse, which is just on the opposite side of Broadview. I went in shortly after opening, and the pastries looked very unappealing. As in, I might as well get croissants at IGA or Loblaws. Why subject yourself to that when you can walk 3 minutes east and get them at Bonjour Brioche?
