Four of us are having a girl trip, golf. food, etc. We will be staying at the Renunion and will be there for two nights, and would like to find two really good restaurants for dinner. We really want good food, not too concerned about price, and we eat about anything. Thank you all for the wonderful suggestions that I know will be coming in!!!

Assuming you have a car, I'd recommend Norman's and Primo, both exceptional restaurants in the Grande Lakes complex on John Young Parkway and Central Florida Parkway.

Primo (my personal favorite) is very good and easy to reach from Reunion. Reunion has an upscale chop house (Forte) that is very good, so definitely give it a go on one night. You have to be staying on property or a member in order to eat a Forte. I like California Grill (Contemporary) and Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge) over on Disney property (407-WDW-DINE). California Grill is noisy with plenty of kids, Jiko is usually a quieter dining experience. Victoria and Albert is as fine dining as you will find in the Orlando area. Capriccio and Dux over at the Peabody hotel are both serving good food these days.

I forgot about Victoria and Albert, but did remember it last night, and we did have a fantastic meal there, of course with the price that goes with it it should be fabulous!! I don't know if the rest want to go quite that high, but I will give them a try. Primo was also recomed by rudykins, so two out of two makes it a good one to put on our list. Thanks so much.

They have a "chef's table" at primo, if you make a reservation, ask for that, no additional charge. Or you can ask when you show up and they will seat you there unless it is already taken.

What happens at the Chefs table, are we seated with others, is there a special menu?

The menu is the same, the table a beautiful granite or marble table up near the open kitchen that seats 12. I think if you call ahead of time and reserve it, they probably will keep it private for you, but in general they do sit other parties along with you. Best call them direct to get the scoop if it is a concern.

Be interested in hearing about the experience. You can mention that their most frequent customer recommend it to you.... Did you try Forte? Also Disney is doing some special fireworks for their halloween spookatcular event. I was up at the California Grill last night and the special fireworks (9:30) are awesome. If you go check the disney website and make sure that it a 'spooktacular' night...

Just got back from the first trip which was with husband and another couple. Got a good deal at the Reunion after listening to a sales talk.
Primos was truly wonderful. I had the Hallibut, husband had Duck, friend had Black Bass and her husband had a Pork dish. My husband and I shared the beet salad, and they shared the tomato, cheese salad. Each dish was truly wonderful. Thanks so much for the recomendation. I will gladly go back with the girls in two weeks. Only problem was finding the Hotel. Even with the GPS it was unclear where it was, especially when it was pouring raining. The second night, we stayed at the hotel and went to the Eleven which was on the top floor. It also was very good. It is Asian Tapas, with a great view, and we were able to see a little of the fireworks from afar!!! Would they know that Herbert is their most frequent customer? We did not try Forte as we only had two nights there. It is a beautiful restaurant, but I really am not interested in paying $40 for a steak. Would rather have something that I don't make. Anyhow, it was great, and thanks again.

Glad you liked Primo, it is one of our Faves. We eat there at least once whenever we are in Orlando.

Glad you enjoyed it. Citron the restuarant directly under Primo does a excellent buffet when the hotel is busy, prime rib (I think it is Harris ranch) and some seafood for $32/person. What did you think about Reunion?

Not big on buffets, not big eaters so would rather have quality then quanity! We enjoyed Reunion, nice golf courses, very nice accommodations, great service and good food. I will be back in another two weeks with the girls. The hotel did reccomend a few restaurants in Celebration (loved the town), Cafe dAntonio and Christini's which is pretty close to Reunion. Have you been to either?

Cafe d'antonio is in Celebration and is a good upscale italian restaurant. Christini's is in Dr. Phillips on Sand Lake Road. It's very good but very very expensive.

That's about what the gal at Reunion said. We might give Cafe d'antonio a try. I'll check in in a few weeks after the trip, and let you know.

I am at Reunion as we speak. We went to Cafe d'antonio last night, and had a wonderful meal. The veal was oustanding, along with the vegtables that went with it. Tonight we are staying in with cheese and crackers, shrimp and publix'x seafood dip. After playing golf at 7:50AM in temps that were about 48 degrees and hitting the Millenium Mall afterwards, we are popped!!! Maybe the Forte tomorrow!! Keep you posted! By the way, the condos at Reunion are fantastic!
