Santorini in Sleepy Hollow -- Great Greek food

Just ordered in food from Santorini in Sleepy Hollow tonight for dinner. Have to recommend it. It is great -- so fresh, yummy and reasonably priced. And the owner couldn't be nicer.

The place is a little out of the way in Sleepy Hollow, and very small. We love the Greek salad there and just about all the entrees we've tried.

Highly recommend it.

I have to agree. I heard about Santorini on this website by chance. I am so happy that they opened up. We moved from Brooklyn three years ago and were excited that there was a Greek restaurant in Tarrytown, but then ordered from Lefteris and had a few bad experiences. Santorini is great!!! We have ordered from there now a few times and have never been disappointed!!! It is so much better than Lefteris. We have not gone to the restaurant yet but plan to. Just ordered just now and am so excited. If you order with credit card, tip in cash because the delivery guy only gets a percentage of the tip on the credit card. Please order and go there. We do not want it to close.

All right. To everyone who has posted (not singling you out, Viking...): Santorini is not significantly different in its food from Lefteris. It is not. The build out on the restaurant is a major difference, and it is not crazy overcrowded like Lefteris. But the food is just good, not crazy good. Same as Leftieris. And the falafel from both places suck.

Nothing personal, everyone... just business. My own humble opinion. Have a happy holiday.

walked by lefteris last nite. have they elaborated on their menu to compete with santorini? it looked like it- i don't remember grilled octopus, or some of the other add ons on the outside chalk board- santorini had many dishes that lefteris didn't- much more sophisticated unless lefteris improved- they used to be dirty and disgusting- overcooked and unfresh.is it currently different?

I have to disagree with you about the falafel. I had Lefteris's falafel in Mt Kisco last year and it was awful -- much too heavy. I had it at Santorini and it was quite good, light and a nice crunch to it. Was it the best falafel I've ever had? Probably not, but it's the best in the area.

I had the bluefish at Lefteris and it was OK but nothing great. I wouldn't trust them to do anything more than that. I had the sea bass at Santorini and it was much better.

I have been to Lefteris a few times and I would never go back. I will happily go back to Santorini.

Do you have a menu that you can scan and post here? We're going to eat there in a couple of weeks and would like to see it. Thanks!

How does it compare to Lefteris?

We like it better. Find the food to be better and just fresher. The decor is much better, though the place is small.

Lefteris definitely wins on location and parking...

don't compare the 2- just go to santorini and don't go back to lefteris!
