Looking for nice moderately priced restaurants around 9th and Walnut in Philadelphia. Any suggestions?

  1. Nice and most are moderately priced -- Jones and Morimoto at 7th and Chestnut; La Scala, 707, Oceanaire Seafood , Aqua and a sushi restaurant whose name I forget at 7th and Walnut.

I would take 707 off your list - everything on the menu is deep fried. Oceanaire might be nice but I am not sure if you would consider it moderately priced.

    2. The Caribou Cafe gets consistently good reviews and it is only a few blocks away..

Lolita is a fun byot mexican but you gotta like it spicy. Afterward go across the street for a capagiro gelato dessert. Again a few blocks away

Rangoon also gets consistently favorable reviews.

If it were me, I would go to Lakeside chinese deli. No atmosphere, byo increadibly cheap but fabulous Chinese food.

      All are moderately priced.

      Have a great time.

        1. there is a thai / malaysian place around 7th and chestnut, i think, but its name escapes me right now... aqua, maybe?? it was a BYO. it was pretty good.

i've had a couple meals at oceanaire and they're good if you're in the mood for seafood, but they are expensive. i think the apps and wine are my favorite thing about them. there was a crab claw cocktail that i really enjoyed.

          1. Caribou is always a solid choice
