Hi All,

I desperatly need your help!

My birthday is in 3 weeks and I want to have a fun rocker/music party (yes, I am making my guests dress up)! My original venue fell through so now I am looking for an AWESOME replacement.

There will be about 40 guests and I was thinking of taking over a small restaurant, lounge or a private room and renting out karaoke...

Any ideas for the place

thank you!!

    Maybe Warszawa's patio?

They have an upstairs room with couches and stuff on the back end of the patio. It would probably work for a party. Last time I went it was closed but I've seen live bands there in the past.

I had my birthday there this year. It was a blast, but you should confirm with George, the bar manager, that there's not another event there that night. I inadvertantly scheduled mine the same night as an online singles meet up and it made some for some interesting, but ultimately hilarious, interactions. I didn't realize there was an upstairs room, though...

Just a friendly reminder, Folks, Chowhound is all about finding deliciousness, please keep the focus on food. Posts that do not discuss the food at any given venue will be removed.

        Thanks.

Oh! I'm so sorry, I am new to Chow and I should have better specified... I'm a little scatterbrained due to party planning. I am in fact looking for yummy food but also a good enviornment to have my party.

          My apologies!

Thank you for the feedback on Warszawa's it looks great! Is the food good?

I love the food at Warszawa but that's another thing you should check because they won't always serve it on the back patio depending on what's going on that night.

The food at Warszawa is awesome.

How about for fun... Oiwakes in Little Tokyo!

Just go where all the Rockers go - Bar Marmont (8171 Sunset Blvd) - much improved, Citizen Smith (1602 N. Cahuenga Blvd), Geisha House (6633 Hollywood Blvd.), House Of Blues (8430 Sunset Blvd), The Standard (550 S.Flower St. - Downtown) - rooftop bar - how cool is that for a birthday party? One additional suggestion, Beechwood (822 Washington Blvd. - Venice). I was there recently, and the restaurant had the back patio (heat lamps) and part of the inside sectioned off for a Birthday Party. The food there is
G-R-E-A-T - upscale American comfort food. My choice would be Beechwood. But if you want to be a Rock Star, then my other suggestions should work for you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Vdub!!!!

Believe it or not the Rainbow also has wonderful fresh fish. Their swordfishish is about half the price of The Palm or the Grill and just as good.

My friend had a bday with the same theme. We got 2 tables at Rokbar. It was a great venue... good food... you can (or used to be able to) rent tables upstairs, so you can look down on the dance floor. Great service, reasonably priced drinks & food, good music.
