Have any of you been to B.Cafe- a Belgian place on E 75th St- recently? I searched for comments and saw a couple that were pretty positive, but not too many mentions on the Board. Thank you.
I have been to B. Cafe multiple times (I live in the area) and find it to be a great little neighborhood spot. They have a wide selection of Belgian beers and a moderate wine list, both of which are well priced. As far as the food, I love their mussels and Duvel carbonnade. Additionally, they have specials that I have always found to be quite good. Their fries are ok, nothing special and pale in comparison to places like Pomme Fritte in the village.
All in all, a great place to stop by for some hearty Belgian fare and a beer if you are in the area. However, I would not rcommend it as a "destination" spot.
We go to B. Cafe every few weeks for our fix of Belgian beer and good food (and we live in midtown so its a bit of a trek). Its a cute little place with a nice neighborhood atmosphere. All of the mussels are great. For that matter we've never had anything we didnt like there. And the hosts are more than happy to help you pick one of the beers to suit your tastes and mood. That said, if they have it in that day, you have to try the Rochefort 10 - its a dark yet slightly sweet trappiste beer (and with such a high alcohol content it will have you completely giddy in minutes) .
i've been here several times, and have never been disappointed. the beers, the mussels, the bitterballen, the belgian waffle desert.. mm mm mmm
I just got back from dinner at the B. Cafe. It's far and away my favorite neighborhood bar/restaurant, and I go for drinks fairly often. The mussels are fantastic, as are the frites. The beer selection and service are great too.
