Best food storage (Thermos type)
I am looking for the best type of food storage in a thermos type. I have tried the Thermos E5 which holds 16 oz. It works; however, it is awkward to eat anything but soups and stews out of. I am looking for something that can hold heated foods such as rice, meats, typical foods that isn't so awkward to eat out of. Also, if anyone has used thermos's of higher quality than the Thermos brand (not sure there is such a thing), I would be open to those suggestions too. Price is not an issue. Thanks in advance.

I use the Stanley for coffee, and it is outstanding. Be sure to heat the bottle with hot (boiling) water first. When I then fill it with java, the steam will still be rising 12 hours later. Once it's opened, the temp starts to drop 'cause the hot liquid removed is replaced with cooler air.

Ditto. This is particularly true with the stainless steel thermos jars. Conversely, you need to chill the thermos with ice water before packing a cold beverage. It's all explained on the instructions that come with the thermos (which most folks toss aside and ignore).
Most beverage thermos containers have lids that allow you to pour your coffee or cocoa without having to completely remove the lid, which helps keep things hot..

Personally love the classic green Stanley containers. Dang near indestructable and do the job. Only downside is no spoon built in.

Thermos/Nissan makes a set you may like. It is a thermal container that holds five individual sealed and microwaveable containers. I can not personally vouch for it but was looking at it just before I found your question in my search. Just check the Thermos web site, you will find it under Thermos/Nissan - food storage.

What you may be looking for is one of Zojirushi's Lunch Jars. (http://www.zojirushi.com/ourproducts/...) Easily the equal of any Thermos product now or in the past for quality. I find them at my local Asian markets in the bay area, YMMV. Amazon lists them if you can't find them locally.
