My favorite restaurant on Clement is Chapeau! -- Not the cheapest restaurant on Clement, but a real treat.

They ought to update that wine list. Some of those whites are 12 yrs old.

If Singapore Malaysian is still there they have a great soup - Mee Siam. So freaking good! A spicey/sour/noodly/shrimpy thing....mmmm.

Many great bubble tea places there too.

Somethimes I wish I still lived in The City...

You don't mention which section of Clement, but since Rockit is in the lower Ave's, I'll assume you mean from Arguello to ~9th. Also, you probably wanted input for last night, but oh well :)

My favorites in that area (mostly already mentioned) are:
Burma Superstar - will be horribly busy on a Sat night, tho
Mandalay - should be much less busy than Burma Superstar, and the food's comparable
Brothers - excellent Korean BBQ (don't bother w/anything else there). Be warned that you'll smell of smoke all night, and service can be brusque.
Minh's Garden - good Vietnamese dive
Mai's Kitchen - less dive'y Vietnamese, but still pretty inexpensive
Troya - great Turkish food, and underappreciated, IMO
Clementine - nice mid-range French bistro fare
Q - solid comfort food, service isn't always what one would hope, though

I agree w/Meggie - Troya would be my pick for the reasons mentioned. Since you're time-constrained, I wouldn't recommend Burma Superstar or Brothers, since AFAIK neither takes reservations and both will be very crowded on a Sat night.

My favorites, besides some that have been mentioned are Cafe Troya (Mediterranean/Turkish), Le Soleil (upscale Vietnamese), Minh's (divey Vietnamese), and Giorgio's for pizza (I like the thin crust). Out of all these, I would go to Troya - great food that is hard to get elsewhere in the city.

          Le Soleil Authentic Vietnamese

          Giorgio's Pizzeria

"Q" is a nice, casual option, with great comfort/American food. It's on Clement, between 3rd and 4th.

Pizza Orgasmica on Clement at 10th
Burma SuperStar on Clement at 3rd
B Star Bar on Clement at 2nd??
Brothers Restaurant (Korean) on Geary at 6th
Chin Bistro (Sushi) on California at 6th
Coriya Hot Pot City on Clement at 10th (cook your own food)

Burma Superstar is always great - Just make sure to get there early and put your name in. They'll take down your cell # and call you when your table is ready, so you can grab a drink or a coffee while you wait.

Spices 2 on 6th has excellent spicy szechuan.
