Marston's is good-it gets crowded though but since you're going early I think it should be ok.

I have loved the breakfast and Mike and Anne's on Mission St. in South Pasadena. They have wonderful cornmeal pancakes with caramelized blueberries (and regular old buttermilk, of course) and delicious apple wood-smoked bacon. Highly recommended.

While I like Mike & Anne's, just be warned that service can be a bit slow, esp. on the weekends.
The Cal-UCLA game is a sellout and traffic to the Rose Bowl will be a mess. For a 12:30 game, I wouldn't want to depend on Mike & Anne's to get their breakfast out on time for me to make a made dash to the game.

Now that you mention it, I do remember the service being a little less-than-snappy as well. My apologies!!
While re-visiting the topic, I also wanted to toss out Heirloom as an option. That's just down the street at Mission and Meridian. I've always found the service really fast and the breakfasts pretty yummy. Their quiches are especially nice.Heirloom Bakery
