Lobsters locally?

socal Oct 17, 2007 01:27 PM

So it's spiny lobster season now, right? I think it starts in the beginning of October.

Just wondering if there are any good places to enjoy our local delicacy. I see it pretty regularly on Mexican seafood menus, so I was looking for a place that gives them some other kind of treatment. (But if there's a Mexican place that does it exceptionally well, I'm all ears...)

I'd love to find a place out on the Eastside, if that's possible.

Thanks in advance.

Is there no place that serves our local lobster around town?

Even someplace like the ones down in Puerto Nuevo would be nice to enjoy this local seasonal bug.

Napa Valley Grille in Westwood was serving them. It just depends on the day. Maybe give them a call and see if they are still featuring them or will be having them again.

Around the Redondo Beach Pier is Captain Kidds and Quality Seafood. They both have them. Be prepared for a picnic table setting ( not like in Napa but several notches lower, very lower ) Heck they have the Spiny Lobster and they will be very fresh and heck you will be able to smell the salt air. This weekend I have heard its going to be hot inland so perhaps a trip to the beach..I prefer Captin Kidds.p.s. link for quality not working shows a bad address and will not link up..

King's Fish House usually has them when they are in season.
