Is Melting Pot really coming to White Plains? I called about a year ago when I saw that had that on a menu but at that time they said they couldn't find a space so it was tentative. BTW Gal40, Happy Birthday.....I also think MacMenamin's in New Rochelle or PF Changs in White Plains (no flames please) would be a fun with a group. Also they always use to sing a good Happy Birthday at Manero's over in Conn. (I think it's Greenwich)

Very sadly, Manero's is now condos.

I just read that a fondue place is coming to White Plains, along with about three other restaurants.

dolores, that is sad about Manero's, that shows you how long it's been since I was there. Thanks dolores and shellyesq about the info on Melting Pot, it's not great food but it is alot of fun.

GIOny - one of the butchers from Manero's opened a store that carries some of the Manero's favorites, like the fried onions, garlic bread, and Gorgonzola salad. We found them to pretty close to the original. Their website is here: http://www.greenwichprimemeats.com/in...

And I like the Melting Pot too.

The Melting Pot website says that they are conducting interviews for the White Plains location, but it doesn't look like there's an exact opening date.

Melting Pot in White Plains opened (cold) a few weeks ago.
I had NYE dinner there with my girlfriend and my mother and we were all very happy with it.
It is bigger than their location in CT.
And was down stairs you really to not know that you are underground, in what was the basement of the old 5 & 10.

Happy Birthday and let us know where you decide to go :)

Tequila Sunrise in Larchmont is popular amongst the young set, but I imagine it could be fun at 40 too! They have a mariachi band and a catering menu. Margarita anyone?

I too like Tequila Sunrise, I was pleasantly surprised at the food last time I was there.

I have been thinking about this thread, and can't come up with 'fun' and 'good food' in the same sentence. I like Sunset Grille and Pinocchio, but in both cases the principals have to be there to guarantee a good time.

Otherwise, I'm at a loss. I have many favorites for good food, Bao's and Silvio's among them, but 'fun' is not an adjective I'd use on most of my hang outs.

The most fun I've had in the last six months was at a wonderful bar in Cape May, NJ, named Cabana's. I can't think of a comparable place in Westchester.

Tequila Sunrise - fun yes; good food - not so much.

Don't know if your into this kind of scene, but you could check out Yvonne's Southern Cuisine in Pelham, they have live jazz on weekends it's a pretty place. We have only eaten on the buffet nights, some of the dishes have been good and some not so good, I guess you have to be into that kind of food.

Water Moon in Rye? Grown-ups, busy bar, active. Might work.

Fav place for girls night out is Harvest-on-Hudson. If you are lucky, there will be dancing on the night you go. Check in advance. Happy bday!
