Good weekend breakfast/brunch in Markham/Scarborough?

aphie Oct 16, 2007 07:21 PM

I often crave a good brunch on the weekends but I'm stuck in the Markham/Scarborough area. Are there any good options?

Many thanks!

Try the Bluestone Bistro, it is on hwy 7 between warden and kennedy. The have breakfast starting at 7 on saturdays and sundays and there lunch menu kicks in around 11 so you get the best of both worlds

I tried the Bluestone this weekend and I thought it was a pretty good breakfast/brunch experience. My partner and I had the French onion soup, Florentine eggs benedict, and the Bluestone skillet. I would get the soup and the eggs benedict again - the skillet was a tad greasy. With a coffee and fresh squeezed juice, it came to about $40. My partner felt it was a bit pricey for what we got, but I haven't found a comparable place in the area yet so I would go back.

        Thanks for the recommendations!

They also opened up a Cora on Warden and 7.

Amazing Teds on Old Kingston Rd. (near Lawson Rd.) in east end Scarborough is an institution.

The Bendale is a nice family run place...go with the macedonian omelette (hunks of fresh tomato, feta, ham). Very cheap

We tried Markham Station today, on Markham and Sheppard. Not bad, diner style, so not brunch, but a diner breakfast. Shared a Super Breakfast between the 2 of us - 3 strips of bacon, 3 eggs, 3 pancakes, 3 breakfast sausages, choice of home fries, roast potatoes, or rice for $8.99. We also got a fruit salad as well, for $3.50 or so. Quite a bargain of a meal. It was okay, not spectacular. But go early. We went at 10am, and it was crowded! Free refills too.

I would second bluestone bistro. While pricey, the food is quite good as is the atmosphere.
