Left Bank - Pleasant Hill - bad service

Does everybody or most people have the same bad experience in service as I did with the Left Bank chain? Reading many of the various reviews here and on Yelp, it seems to be an ongoing problem there. We had a party of 6 and maybe only 1/3 capacity of the dining area filled. The orders were mis ordered from the kitchen by our server (wrong food) and the server seemd to disappear for long periods at a time. The food was actually passable, I had the Lamb sandwich, the berger looked good as did the ravoli. The bill was presented, but then she never came back to process the credit card! Enough was enough, so we just left cash. We will not go to the Left Bank again. Well, unless its business and the boss is paying!!

  1. Lately I've had the opposite experience - horrid, ill-prepared, rancid food and really nice, attentive service.

    This was at the San Mateo location, and I won't have any more reports on it, because I won't be back. I guess they're in need of what you call a "downhill alert."

    1. Your experience doesn't surprise me. I've had terrible service at the San Mateo, Menlo Park, and San Jose locations. The food is way too mediocre for me to consider it as an option anymore. The only one I'd even consider visiting is the Larkspur one. Other than that, my last few experiences there have never been positive (on the side of service much more than food) and I don't plan to go back.

      1. Truthfully, I haven't much noticed the service because I expend all my effort trying to find something good to eat! I have friends who go there quite a bit after a nearby movie and I have never found the food consistently bland and boring. Not a place I am likely to return to, either.
